The weekly HOA article in the Union-Tribune (6/6/20) stresses that a good reserve fund is a critical component of a healthy HOA.  Without one, HOAs are less able to handle emergencies.  Further, a good fund drives the value of your residence higher and better promotes its sale.  You can review the article here.
